Egg-stra! Egg-stra!

Some of you may have heard of Resurrection Eggs. They are put out by Family Life. Essentially they are a way to tell the story of the Resurrection to kids using plastic eggs filled with objects. Each egg contains a small object that symbolizes a different part of the story.

We took our set of Resurrection Eggs out of the closet a bit early this year. You see, we are planning an outreach event at our house and planned to use the eggs for our activity.

Teresa and Jesse can't get enough of these eggs! They are constantly taking the carton down and opening all of them to see what's inside. We've gone over and over the story. We had gone over them for maybe the sixth time when Teresa asked, "Mom, why did Jesus have to die anyway?" Hmmm...something is not getting through.

As I prayed about how to share the gospel with Teresa it occured to me that the eggs only told part of the story. They told of the events surrounding the resurrection but they didn't tell of the begininning and they certainly didn't address the end, which is the best part!

I decided to re-create the object lesson. Here is what the Lord laid on my heart. Its my prayer that you can use this to teach your little ones the whole story. Yes, He's alive. But we are free AND He's coming back!
